Over the past three months, several companies have announced plans to open new facilities or expand existing operations in Georgia. They include the following:

Building Spotlight: Columbus Spec 
Located in west central Georgia, the 105,641-square-foot Columbus spec building sits on a 28-acre site in Muscogee County, six miles from Interstate185 and just 80 miles from Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport

Baxter International Selects Georgia
On April 19, Baxter International announced plans to locate a new biopharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Stanton Springs, a business park near Covington, east of Atlanta. The $1billion plant will employ approximately 1,500 Georgians.

FORTUNE 500 in Georgia
According to information released by FORTUNE magazine on May 21, Georgia now ranks 12th among states with the most FORTUNE 500 headquarters.

Metro Atlanta Opportunity Zones
As part of Georgia’s job tax credit program, certain areas of the state have been designated as “Opportunity Zones” (OZ) and qualify for the state’s maximum state job tax credit of $3,500 per job.
